Tom Staar has spent the last few years solidifying his name amongst the most adaptable and durable within the ever-changing house music scene. An IDMA award, as well as aligning himself with the key tastemakers, finding incredible support from Spotify, continuously finding himself on MINT and Dance Rising playlists amongst other massive milestones.
2016-2017 saw years of evolutionary development, gracing labels such as Spinnin, Size and Axtone and setting up his own ‘Cartel’ imprint in partnership with Spinnin Records. 2018 and 2019 focused solely on releasing quality music and remixes for some of the top tier artists in dance music, namely David Guetta, The Chainsmokers, Cedric Gervais and Oliver Heldens. Tom Staar has spent the last 18 months carving his own path and trailblazing with his signature sound: mixing the energy of big room house with the solid influences of Tom’s extensive knowledge in Techno and progressive house music production.
As ever, the spring/summer saw a continued presence for Tom, aligned with the biggest brands in dance music, including Axtone’s arenas at Tomorrowland and Dance Valley, along with their tour of Japan. Tom also enjoyed main stage appearances at A Summer Story Madrid, and Los Alamos Festival and of course another summer amongst the essential Ibiza circuit, solidifying Tom’s status amongst the key players in the scene. ADE 18 also saw Tom appearing with David Guetta to massive acclaim at his Jack Back event at ‘The Mad Fox’ as well as headlining and selling out his own debut ‘We Are Superstaar’ show, with a view to repeat the same success for 2019.
2018 saw some of the most prolific success from Tom Staar releases on Spotify, enjoying over 10 million plays, with over 5 million attributed to his two Axtone releases: ‘Come Together’ and ‘Otherside’ respectively. With collaborations with David Guetta already in motion, and a slew of remixes and further releases planned, 2019 looks set to be the making of Tom Staar.
